This Alvarinho is acrobatically balanced with an intense aroma of tropical fruits, with a subtle herbaceous note. its been a place I have visited for family birthdays and get together a over the last few years frequently but It seemed abandoned, I was shocked to see how empty it was, silent apart from the music from the tv, no atmosphere, cold, what a shame for a once thriving cosy pub that it seems to have gone down hill so fast.I couldnt comment on the food as I didnt eat but I didnt see any menus and wasnt offered one, maybe for the best, Went for a Christmas family get together x 9 people, only 2 other tables in, so not busy by any means, freezing cold room, wood burner not lit.no woodpoor excuse, took 1hour before order was taken, my first and second choice not available, when the food arrived one was wrong that person had to wait a few minutes, ending up eating his meal when we had almost finished ours, we were asked if we wanted any hot drinks,one would expect to be asked if anyone wanted a dessert first, my husband asked to speak with the manager, we were told he'd only just taken over , he won't last very long his manner was appalling. Unlimited tea for 2hrs and a glass of cold Prosecco. We offer both inside and outdoor kids play areas. Borh food & drinks very reasonably priced. But we were told about the change of management so we'll definitely return and give another chance. Please avoid this place, the new managers or owners haven't a clue how to run a successful business. The sausages were inedible. 11,034 were here. Trying to get the waitress o take our food order was near impossibleas it appeared she was the only waitress on duty. The roast potatoes were frozen ones, the veg served was still hard and quite clearly frozen and the gravy was just tasteless instant gravy.
